Hypnotize me pls
Last night I was watching an old show of one of my favourite actors, Stephen Chow. The show is "Royal Tram"
I watched it like N times already, but last night one of the familiar dialouges between Wei XiaoBao and Chen Jing Nan caught my attention.
"Xiao Bao, you are a clever person, so i can talk to you in a clever way. The people outside are different, therefore, we need to use religious rituals, rules and ideals to hypnotize them."
How true.
Maybe in the past, when I watch this show, I have not seen much of the world that i was living in. Not enough, at least, all i know about is what is been said in the tiny island I was staying in.
Now that I was lucky enough to be "out of the box" for 2 years, then I realize a lot of things.
There is no such thing as right or wrong, only popular opinions. However, most people need others to tell them what is right and wrong. Since thousands of years ago, to our present time, and definitely in the far future. There are people who are not bothered to think about what is happening around them, they need people to tell them there is something to believe in, so that they have a purpose in life.
Some people rely on the TV, some on religion, some by parents, some by school. Only a minority will take into account all these info they get, and decide for themselves what is the reason for their existance.
And only a minority of these minorities, will see the "beauty" of setting the purposes of lives for other people.
When I watch the opening 15 mins of "saving private ryan", i always ask myself; what can make people run into a shower of bullets and bombs? For me, nothing. But this scenes did happen in history.
Ok, maybe they have no choice, they have to fight back because they are being attacked on by the Axis Powers.
Then, what can make so many people follow the ideals of Hitler at that time?
People's need for a purpose in life?
In a way, people are weak in the brain.
The slightly stronger ones with the right resources will get to control the weak brained.
Maybe the not so greedy ones will set their own purpose in life, but thats tough. When you know you have a stronger will than others, it's hard not to take advantage of that. When you know most people need you to give them a purpose in life.
